First in this two-part documentary series sees a family called the Irwins experience 50 years of black British history, discovering how post-war Caribbean immigration transformed the way of life in the UK. In this first episode, they see what it was like for arrivals coming to Britain in the 1950s and '60s, with presenter Giles Coren and social historian Emma Dabiri introducing them to their new homes. The family samples the food, work and entertainment of first-generation West Indian immigrants in Brixton.
