When you talk about German planes bombing London, everyone automatically thinks of the Blitz, but did you know that the bombings of the 1940s weren't the first in the city's history? Believe it or not, back during World War I there was another aerial bombing campaign, as Germany used airships loaded with explosives to cause quite the bit of destruction in the city.
