Bruce Parry (seen here enjoying the Amazon. You may also recall him from Tribe) returns with a new five-part documentary series set in the spectacular wilderness of, yes, the Arctic. Immersing himself in the remote communities of this wild world, Bruce experiences first-hand how the people of the Arctic live now and how these ancient ways of life may be about to change forever. He begins his epic arctic journey in the northern Russian territory of Siberia. Arriving during the summer solstice - a period when the region experiences continuous daylight - he spends time with horse breeders and reindeer herders, and has a go at using traditional methods of riding the beasts. The presenter also embarks on a quest to learn more about the importance of shamanic rituals to the native people, and asks whether their traditional way of life is in danger of being permanently wiped out by the modern world.
