This documentary series provides a revealing insight into the West Midlands Ambulance Service. Each episode follows the call-handlers and ambulance dispatchers in the region's two control-rooms, along with the ambulance crews out on the ground responding to thousands of 999 calls a day. Tonight’s episode takes place on a Saturday evening. A man has suddenly collapsed and his distraught wife must stay cool-headed. Numerous fights and several attacks also cause accidents including one that leads to a man being hit with a baseball bat. Elsewhere, paramedics must decide whether to deliver the baby of a woman in advanced labour at home or try to move her.
