Seven-year-old Maisie wants to be adopted. Like many children who are taken into care, she experienced neglect and abuse in her early years which left her feeling confused and angry. Maisie has had many mother figures in her life - several families wanted to adopt her but found it too difficult and she ended up back in care. Maisie's luck changed when she met an extraordinary couple who have already successfully adopted eight extremely troubled kids. They hope they can help Maisie to overcome her traumatic past and want to give her the kind of childhood that all children deserve. But they're worried that she may be so damaged by her past experiences that even they won't be able to make it work. Over 12 months A Home For Maisie follows the family's journey, documenting the many obstacles Jim and Sue must overcome in their bid to give Maisie the permanency she so badly needs.
