The third round of the 6 Nations, Ireland's first home game and the return of Johnny Sexton. It's all set up to be a very exciting afternoon.
Ireland have had some vicious battles with France in recent years, Pascal Pape getting yellow carded for his hit on Jamie Heaslip in the 2015 6 Nations, Ireland's hard fought World Cup group stage win that ultimately ended Paul O'Connell's career , and last year's bruising affair which saw late hits on Johnny Sexton and a two point win for Les Bleus. This year the French come to Dublin with an improving game, as well as their usual physicality and big men.
What Ireland lack in size, they make up for with tactics and teamwork. Johnny Sexton returns from injury, and will be ready boss his troops around the field. Peter O'Mahony replaces an injured Josh Van Der Flier on the bench, and captain Rory Best returns to the squad after his stomach bug. As the fitter team, Ireland will be hoping to run France around and tire them out. However, Storm Doris may dictate what type of game they are able to play.
Ireland are capable of winning this, but it will be a seriously tough game.
