It isn't just MMA that Irish sports personalities have made huge waves, it's professional wrestling too.
Cabra's own Sheamus has already held the title of World Heavyweight Champion and now, Baldoyle's Becky Lynch is the current reigning Women's Champion for SmackDown. Lynch, who is a former Aer Lingus flight attendant and went to DIT, is now the face of women's wrestling for the WWE.
However, in a report by Wrestling Observer Radio, it's understood that WWE bosses aren't happy with Lynch - because nobody can understand her thick Dublin accent. According to the report, Kevin Dunn - WWE's Executive Vice President of Television Production - hates her accent and is cutting her promo time.
Promos are essentially when the wrestlers are speaking on mic in front of fans and form the backbone of professional wrestling and the pageantry that goes with it. Therefore, less promo time means less time on camera and building a rapport with fans and the like.
Lynch is a fan favourite with audiences, so it remains to be seen if she'll be given less time on the mic. A tweet from Lynch last night seemed to address the news that WWE aren't happy with her accent, with a translation of what she said in the ring in a previous match.
For those who didn't understand my accent what I said was, Smackdown. Alexa. Glasgow. Face. Slapped. Off. Her.
