Good LORD this is painful. It's the equivalent of nails - swaddled in matching baby grows - being scratched down a blackboard somewhere in a woodland.
While Cate (or Kate as she's known here) has a pitch perfect singing voice, it's the song itself that makes this experience particularly difficult to watch. Lyrics include "If you licked my back too much I'd make your tongue go dry." That and the aforementioned matching baby grows (what else has such prevalent crotch buttons?), coupled with the whole orchestrated quirkiness of it all *jitters skittishly around room* don't help matters. Then there's the musical intro complete with dance moves.
The talent show in question was called Hey Hey It's Saturday and is pretty much a latter day version of Britain's Got Talent. For those of you unable to bring yourselves to watch it in its entirety, the trio score a paltry 12 out of a potential 30 points. Nuff said.
