Well this is awkward.
Apart from being very difficult to watch, Kay Burley's interview with Alton Towers owner Merlin Entertainment's chief executive last week also riled up viewers who complained over Burley's take-no-prisoners approach.
Nick Varney was on Sky News after an accident at Alton Towers seriously injured four people, with Burley taking on the mantle of questioning how the accident was allowed to happen, and doing so with extreme prejudice.
Viewers were understandably 'engaged' by it.
Sorry to bang on about this, but @KayBurley is a shameful vile wannabe bully. Alton Towers boss has such patience https://t.co/nS7RKesaaA

Can't believe the @KayBurley interview with the Alton Towers boss, how unprofessional and rude that woman is ✋ hope sky news sacks her

If @altontowers retires the smiler because it's of poor quality will @SkyNews do the same to @KayBurley for the same reason?

As for Burley herself, here's what she thought about it.
For those concerned I was hard on Alton Towers boss, he'll get over it. Not sure those on his ride will be so quick to recover #perspective

Too harsh, or not harsh enough?
