In the midst of all this worrying news coming from America, it's important to remember that there are faint glimmers of hope in all the darkness.
Case in point is seeing Justin Bieber getting his face smashed in by a burly, 6'6 Canadian hockey player. Bieber took part in the annual All-Star Celebrity Shootout and, sure enough, any game of NHL is going to feature someone getting ran into the hoardings alongside the side of the rink.
By all accounts, Bieber came off without a scratch and was all smiles and laughter about it afterwards, but this image - taken right at the moment of impact - doesn't look so happy.
