That's why, if you do end up on the losing end, it can be a tough thing to accept, in particular if you're still a kid. For a Rhode Island Little League team who lost by just one run to Illinois last night, they felt that crushing pain as their coach Dave Belisle looked down at the crying eyes and sad faces of his players.
He needed to find the words to pick them back up and let them know that despite the loss, they should hold their heads up high, and he found the perfect speech which reminded them that after all, it's just a game.
