We have a contender for dad of the year right here.
Hacking IKEA flat packs to make impressive home furniture is nothing new with multiple sites dedicated to the cause, but this hack dreamt up by one dad determined to build the ultimate bed for his son deserves all the medals and awards going.
Eric Strong's young son was nervous about moving into a 'big kid bed' of his own so to get him into it, Eric guaranteed that he'd make 'the most awesome bed ever'. And boy did he.
Using IKEA's Kura bed, Trofast storage system and the Besta shelving unit, Strong created the ultimate play area and bed ever which includes a slide and a secret hide out with an emergency escape hatch. And the best part is it all only cost him $850.
Luckiest. Kid. Ever.
