Detroit is directed by the endlessly accomplished Kathryn Bigelow (Zero Dark Thirty, The Hurt Locker, Point Break) and has a stunning cast working around a disturbing time in American history.
In 1967 a police raid on The Algiers Motel in Detroit resulted in the death of 3 black men and the brutal beating of 9 other people. Riots in the city followed.

The film is released in the US in August, with a release here hopefully soon after.
