It's a great day for the Tribesmen as the city of Galway was named European Capital of Culture for 2020.
Galway saw off competition from Limerick and the three sister cities of Kilkenny, Wexford and Waterford in claiming the honour.
The people of Galway gathered together on Shop Street for the announcement and the pure joy at the decision can be felt all the way from across the Shannon.
