This weekend’s FAI Junior Cup Final between Liffey Wanderers and Sheriff Youth Club at the Aviva Stadium has been attracting a lot of attention, not least from the Aprés Match crew, who were on hand to give some tactical and technical insight into the type of game we can expect.
Bill O'Herlihy and Frank Stapleton took the side of Liffey Wanderers, who seem to have some problems with itchy hoops, by all accounts.
Eamon Dunphy, on the other hand, took Sheriff Youth Club's side, and is backing them to do the business, so long as they always think about John Giles, all the time.
The game takes place at the Aviva Stadium on Sunday 17th May at 4pm. Tickets for the game are priced at €10 for adults, €5 for concessions (Student, OAP) and all Under 16's are admitted for free, but if you bring your boots along then you could be in with a chance to get a once in a lifetime opportunity to walk onto the pitch at half time and take a penalty against League of Ireland legend Alan O'Neill.
10 people will get the chance to take a penalty, and they will all win an incredibly swanky new pair of Umbro boots, not to mention that if they do manage to score, then they'll get to bring the ball home as a memento. Plus, they'll have that story about the time they "scored a penalty at the Aviva. Ah sure I remember it well. The pressure was on, the crowd were watching and waiting with baited breath..."
