It's fair to say that Heidi Cruz has had a rough time of it while supporting her husband in his bid to secure the GOP nomination for the US Presidency.
On top of the constant media attention that comes with the territory, she also became a target of her husband's rival Donald Trump and was subjected to a nasty internet meme in which and unflattering photo of her was compared to a more glamorous shot of Trump's wife Ivanna.
However, the final insult comes via her husband. Seconds after delivering a speech in which he announced he was dropping out of the Presidential race, Ted Cruz was embraced by both members of his staff and Heidi herself. An awkward fumble ensued in which Cruz both 'punched' and elbowed his beloved wife in the face.
