There's no better way to inspire your employees before the worst working day of the year than by standing atop a checkout and bellowing a pep talk based on a movie/story where pretty much everyone dies.
Not the best comparison in terms of inspiring hope, but pretty accurate considering the carnage that was about to befall them.
