Screen Junkies released the video yesterday and posted: ‘Time to celebrate the end of the election season with a movie we waited 20 years for and only got this...’ We wonder what the caption for the trailer would have been had it been posted today.
The Youtube channel is known for posting trailers which honestly, bluntly and hilariously describe beloved, inexplicably popular, or simply terrible movies, TV shows and games.
Yesterday it posted an honest trailer for summer blockbuster (it made its budget three times over but less than half its predecessor, so interpret that as you will) Independence Day Resurgence.
In it, Jeff Goldblum is made fun of for playing himself, the lack of an awesome Bill Pullman speech is mourned, and the fact that Will Smith picked Suicide Squad over this film is also pointed out.
The trailer has been viewed over 800,000 times since its release.
