Last Week Tonight with John Oliver was not broadcast this week, presumably due to the VMAs, so the host released a short segment online to tide his audiences over until his return.
As it was an internet only exclusive, Oliver decided to do the most internet thing ever - complain about superhero movies.
There's no denying that the market has been flooded with superhero films in the past few years and audiences would be forgiven for being a little bit fatigued at this stage.
Oliver reckons that the reason some people are getting turned off superhero films is because they're sick of seeing the same characters on the big screen again and again. They want something different, something original.
