Over 4,000 residents in the south of Chile have been evacuated after the Calbuco volcano erupted for the second time in 24 hours after 42 years of lying dormant.
Spectacular scenes were photographed as both geologists and local authorities were taken by surprise by the eruption, which caused residents in towns surrounding the site to be evacuated to a 10km distance.
