These passengers on the Russian airline UTair were on their flight out of Igarka airport, which is cosily located inside the Arctic Circle, when they were informed that the plane was frozen to the tarmac and instead of marching off and waiting for the next one or for temperatures to climb, they got out into the -52 degrees Celsius weather and helped push the plane back along the runway until it was free.
According to the Siberian Times, most of the passengers were oil and gas workers on their way home, hence their eagerness and willingness to brave the elements to move the 30 ton aircraft.
So next time you grumble about having to get on one of those annoying buses that brings you from the plane to the terminal, count your blessings.
