Takeru Kobayashi is a something of a big deal in the realm of professional eating. The winner of many championships, Kobayashi holds SIX Guinness World Records for his exploits in munching down on hot dogs, meatballs, Twinkies, hamburgers, pizza and pasta in record time.
What do you do with the man who can beat all other comers? Well, some crazy TV producers came up with an idea - to have Kobayashi compete in a hot dog eating contest against a 1089 pound Kodiak Bear.
Let's face it, there was only going to be one winner here but Kobayashi did fairly well for himself by getting through 31 bunless hot dogs in 2 minutes and 36 seconds. The bear, however, wiped the floor with him by eating 50 in the same period of time. Which is understandable, considering that the bear would probably eat Kobayashi in roughly the same period of time if he was given the chance.
Our favourite part in the clip is the US flag displayed behind the bear, indicating that the beast is representing 'MURICA during the challenge.
Incidentally, just two years ago Kobayashi beat the record set by the bear at a State Fair in Texas. That THAT, bears!
