He is best-known for his roles as Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek and Professor X in the original X-Men trilogy, but the knighted Shakespearean actor has taken a turn towards the obscure as he dons jeans, check shirt and a cowboy hat this week.
He has certainly wholly embraced the new character, as can be seen from this post he shared yesterday for Independence Day:
Happy 4th 'merica, yer a mighty fine country. Luv, Cowboy Pat.🇺🇸 https://t.co/Wfp09qqZh1 #HappyIndependenceDay pic.twitter.com/moOFJpLZpL

Patrick also shared a hilarious video of him singing classic western songs, including the likes of ‘Rawhide’, ‘Ghost riders in the sky’, ‘Whoopie Ti Yi Yo’, ‘Ringo’, and ‘El Paso’. The accompanying voiceover comments: ‘Sometimes it takes an Englishman to teach us what’s great about being an American.’
He is certainly giving his all and having a great aul time with the whole thing. Croon on Patrick Stewart, croon on.
