To be fair, it is one of those things that just sounds funny to say. We blame the alliteration.
New Zealand news presenter Hilary Barry really struggled with a story about a Malaysian diplomat who has been pooing on a woman's doorstep thanks to the unusually formal way that the man's lawyers used to describe the events, saying that he had an 'emergency defecation situation' and that was the reason for the, eh, deposit.
What didn't help was that the story that followed the 'emergency defecation situation' was one about an explosion on a plane because neither Barry nor her colleagues could hold their sh*t together long enough to get through it, which is very ironic.
