If not the rest of the 2014 at least. You're probably better off not watching this if you're going on holidays anytime soon.
This near-miss between two planes on the runway happened yesterday at Barcelona-El Prat airport, and was caught on camera by one avid planespotter (which is very much a thing apparently). Miguel Ángel watched as the Russian plane flying in from Moscow made its descent onto the runway and another plane taxied right out in front of it, leaving the Russian plane's pilot with mere-seconds to abort their landing and go around for a second attempt.
According to Spanish reports, the Spanish airport management firm AENA said 'there was never any danger' and that both planes 'were in correct positions' and that the landing could have 'proceeded unhindered because there was a sufficient gap between the two planes.'
Somehow that doesn't feel very encouraging. We're still going to need a drink before getting on our next flight.
