Reason 4,538 not to go to Australia: flying sharks.
79-year-old Terry Selwood was fishing off the coast of New South Wales over the weekend when a great white shark made an unexpected appearance inside his boat.
"I caught a blur of something coming over the boat... and the pectoral fin of the shark hit me on the forearm and spun me round, knocked me down on the ground to my hands and knees," he told ABC News on Saturday.
"He came right over the top of the motor and then dropped onto the floor."
"There I was on all fours and he's looking at me and I'm looking at him and then he started to do the dance around and shake and I couldn't get out quick enough onto the gunwale."
"I looked down and I thought 'I'll be buggered there's a shark in me boat'."
Selwood managed to call for help and was rescued from the 200kg, 2.7m shark that somehow managed to fit cosily into his 5m long boat. And to hear him tell it is quite the experience.
