Last year, the story of 8-year-old Connor Michalek touched the hearts of everyone in the WWE, and millions around the world as the stars of wrestling shared their stories about how he had come into their lives and made them brighter.
Almost one year after Connor passed away as a result of a long-term illness that he had been bravely battling, the WWE has announced that the young super-fan will be entered into the Hall of Fame.
The move comes as part of the brand new Warrior Award, named in honour of the late Ultimate Warrior, who also passed away in 2014 and stated last year in his own Hall of Fame speech that there be a category for everyday people who inspire, help and are heroes to others.
Connor "The Crusher" Michalek will be honoured in a ceremony ahead of Wrestlemania 31 this year, and will be come the first recipient of this new award. Connor's battle has also provided the inspiration to start the Connor's Cure Program, dedicated to research into pediatric cancer and bettering the lives of those children who are affected by it.
