Lady Gaga made a surprise visit to homeless LGBT teenagers in New York last week in a segment that aired on the 'Today' show yesterday, and revealed a secret that she says she's never told anyone before.
Gaga opened up about the fact that she suffers from PTSD, and said that "My own trauma in my life has helped me to understand the trauma of others."

"I told the kids today, 'I suffer from PTSD.’ I’ve never told anyone that before," she said during her visit to Harlem’s Ali Forney Center for homeless LGBT youth. "But the kindness that’s shown to me by doctors as well as my family, and my friends, it’s really saved my life."
"These children are not just homeless or in need. Many of them are trauma survivors. They’ve been rejected in some type of way."
“I also believe that kindness is the cure to violence and hatred around the world,” she added, while giving out gifts and leading the teenagers in a group meditation on her visit.
