John Oliver takes a look at the chicken industry in America, and exactly what goes in to producing the most popular meat in the country.
While the issue of cruelty to animals and in particular poultry is one that has been well covered, so Oliver is taking a different slant on the issue by looking at the root causes of a lot of the problems in the industry.
With many farmers on the poverty line, Oliver looks at the large chicken farming companies that have managed to put a system in place where the farmers have to pay for all the land and equipment (the stuff that costs money) and they own the chickens (the stuff that makes money), which is a worrying set up.
