If you haven’t seen The Disaster Artist yet, or The Room for that matter, you should because they’re gas.
The Disaster Artist reimagines the making of what has been lauded as the worst movie of all time – Tommy Wiseau’s The Room. James Franco, who plays Wiseau (the writer, director, producer AND star of The Room) and directs the new film, has been winning awards all over the place and this week earned a Best Actor nomination for his performance.
The film also features some great cameos from the likes of Zac Efron and Judd Apatow, but it turns out that the latter didn’t realise he was meant to be playing himself until after the film was made.
"I'm playing like a terrible person," he told Jimmy Fallon on his talk show. "And then I see James Franco promoting the movie and he's like 'Yeah, Judd was so good in the movie playing himself.' I was like what? I thought I was playing this asshole producer! What happened?
"You can't at the end of it go 'Judd as himself'! What is that?"
