You now when you're out jogging and you can't stop thinking about biting into a fresh, juicy tomato? Yeah, us neither.
Technology is moving at a rapid pace, and it seems like every day there's a new gadget or device that can help to make our lives better, but something tells us that few of them will top this when it comes to being straight up weird.
A company in Japan, Kagome, have decided to commission a robot for the upcoming Tokyo marathon that will sit on the runner's shoulders and feed them tomatoes in order to get them through the grueling course. The robot is named Tomatan, and weights a fairly heavy 8kg, so it's going to be a bit cumbersome to carry around, but you can't say that he's not a happy looking little fellow.
This robot is the real deal, and has been designed by Maywa Denki, "an artistic studio known for its eccentric devices and instruments", according to SlashGear. However, they are working on another, slightly lighter version that would be a bit more convenient, named Petit-Tomatan, weighing in at just 3kg. We don't know why, but we want one.
