Truck driver David Fredrickson was going about his usual route down the I-10 in Biloxi, Mississippi when a huge accident occurred directly in front of him. That's when he stepped in to action.

The whole series of events happened on August 11th, as a car and a truck collided, with the vehicles both exploding in flames as a result of the collision. It turns out that the car T-boned the semi-truck, striking it directly in the gas tank and causing the explosion, which obviously brought all traffic around them to a standstill.

However, David was prepared and, having a fire extinguisher on the truck with him, hopped out and headed towards the wreckage in an attempt to calm the flames. His action caused others to get involved also, and between them, they managed to pry the doors open and rescue the woman and a one-year-old child from the car.

The video was uploaded by Fredrickson's son who stated that while his father was "the first person on [the] scene to risk his own life in order to possibly save another", his actions inspired the others and  that "everyone involved in the rescue effort is a hero in my books".

Police and fire units responded immediately to the accident, while it seems that the speedy actions of Frederickson were partially responsible for the fact that there were no serious injuries (although the woman did suffer a broken leg) and everyone survived the crash.
