“Being different means you make the difference.”
After winning for Song of the Year for "Can't Stop The Feeling," at the iHeartRadio Music Awards last night, Justin Timberlake delivered a speech that will have you smiling and feeling motivated.
His speech was the highlight of the night as it began with him addressing how old he sometimes feels (well, we have known the guy since he was a wee pop star in the 90s) to commending his fellow nominees before delivering an inspirational message to his many young, diverse fans.
"I wrote this song because I wanted it to be about inclusion, about love, about being together," he said. "I guess I want to take this opportunity to speak to young people right now, 'cause there's a lot of you looking at me."
He continued: "If you are black or brown or gay or lesbian or you are trans, or maybe you're just a sissy singing boy from Tennessee, anyone that's treating you unkindly—it's only because they are afraid, or have been taught to be afraid of how important you are." He concluded with a mike-dropping "f*** them."
