The likes of Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders may be grabbing all the headlines in the US presidential race for nominations, but Ted Cruz has been lurking in the background.
Unfortunately, he doesn't seem to have the same number of supporters in the showbiz world, leaving him open to be something of an object of ridicule.
Harry Shearer, aka the voice of Mr. Burns, Ned Flanders et al, took on the Republican candidate - specifically making reference to Donald Trump's 'attack' on his wife, Heidi.
It's a riposte of-sorts to Cruz - who is a big Simpsons fan - making a jokey 'bid' for Shearer's role during his short retirement from the series last year, via Buzzfeed (see below). (Spoiler: he was crap).
In response, Shearer has 'auditioned' for the role of Ted Cruz.
