Who knew that in 2017 we'd get a literal meaning for the term 'slugged in the face'.

Hayleigh Cassidy's girls' night out this past weekend took a turn that, while traumatic, proved to be social media gold.

We don't know how the slug got into the room or onto the paper plate or why Cassidy's friend thought that flinging it across the room at her would end well for anyone but we're very glad that the universe let the events fall as they did.

Unfortunately, we doubt the slug felt the same way.

Poor little gut didn't stand a chance but at least he made his mark on the world.
