This has to be seen to be believed. A truck driver traveling along the M62 between Leeds and Wakefield in the UK caught a very bizarre event on camera this week when the metal lamp posts along the road began to bend and sway in the wind like trees during a storm.
Apparently what's happening here (according to science) is a thing called "vortex shredding", a rare but easily explainable occurence that takes place when the natural frequency of a column matches the frequency of the wind. Yeah, we had to look up a lot of those science words too, don't worry.
According to the UK's Highway Agency it "only happens at certain wind speeds and is a known but fairly rare event". Doesn't make it any less impressive though.
