Westworld star Evan Rachel Wood did something not so fetch long ago – she turned down a role in the chick flick classic Mean Girls.
The actress revealed why on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, as well as discussing what it was like to totally blank on David Bowie lyrics while playing a tribute concert with his band, and about her fight for equal pay on Westworld’s next season.
“There’s a good reason,” she told Fallon on why she declined to do Mean Girls. “It’s because I was already supposed to do a film called Pretty Persuasion that was set in a high school that was very Heathers-esque and it was very similar. And I was already doing that. So I was like, I can’t.”
“But Tina Fey [who was also a guest on Fallon’s show that night], if you’re here, I’m so sorry that we got off on the wrong foot,” she continued, jokingly adding, “but I would love, as long as your next movie is not about a robot uprising, I would happily do it.”
You can watch a trailer for the movie she chose over Mean Girls, Pretty Persuasion (which obviously didn’t have quite the success of 2004 comedy, given most people haven’t heard of it), below:
