Sometimes it's difficult to tell which way which escalator is going. We've all almost walked down an 'up' escalator or the other way around. It happens. But getting on an escalator that's going nowhere? Well that takes a special kind of person.
This poor guy was left stranded on his never-ending nightmare of an escalator journey after getting on a non-moving one but somehow (the video says he's drunk and we're willing to believe that) manages to think he's going somewhere. We totally get what's going on here, the escalator going down next to him probably has his addled mind thinking he's on the go but after a while you'd think that someone would step in and tell the poor guy that he wasn't actually going anywhere. Unless he's a mean drunk, in which case he deserves it.
