Terrifying footage from multiple sources has appeared online as the Typhoon Soudelor sweeps over Eastern China.
Heavy rains and high winds have triggered mudslides, while hundreds of thousands of people have been relocated to higher ground to avoid flooding in certain areas. This dashcam video shows just how dangerous the mix of high wind and rain can be, lifting cars and other vehicles and tossing them around like toys.

Meanwhile this video from the runway at one of China's airports during the typhoon shows the high winds lifting a plane off the tarmac.

Soudelor reached super typhoon status while it was brewing over the ocean, hitting wind speeds of 180 miles per hour before weakening to a tropical storm as it made landfall.
