You may think it's dogs, or laser pointers, or water. But you would be wrong. The metronome is the greatest enemy of the house cat, and the battle is never ending.
Thankfully for us the battle has few victims and provides hours of entertainment. It's the 21st century version of the gladiator fights of Ancient Rome, with less blood and persecution of Christians and more thumbs up. A lot more.
Is it the ticking sound that drives the cat mad? Or is it the ceaseless movement, like a robot version of a tail being dangled in front of their eyes? We'll never know, but we do know that the only winner of these bouts is us.
In short, if you want countless hours of entertainment, get your cat a metronome.
