The legend continues to grow...
The stories and myths about Bill Murray being a great guy and performing random acts of awesomeness have become infamous on the internet, and while many of them are not true or apocryphal at best, this one is for real, and there's video to prove it.
The guys at Deadspin were the first to share this amazing video, sent in by Stephen, one of their readers, who gave them some background on what exactly went down and why the Groundhog Day star decided to give this speech.
It seems it was a bachelor party for their friend EJ, and having spotted Bill in the restaurant, they tried to send a few drinks his way, which the waiter told them were politely declined. When one of the party met Murray in the bathroom, he asked did he have a few words for the groom, and again Murray politely declined. Then, after his friend had come back dejected and rejected, in Stephen's own words, "Bill f****ng Murray walks into the room and gives this speech".
