Just like there's always some dickhead with a guitar, and there's always some dickhead who wants to listen to trance at 7am because he hasn't stopped taking acid all weekend, and there's always some dickhead who still goes around shouting "Alan! Alan! Alan! Steve! Steve! Steve!" six years after it stopped being funny, there will always be a dickhead in a costume thinking he's hilarious.
And this year's version is the man getting a piggyback from their very own Ted. It may be funny now, but it's not going to be so funny when they're eight pints in and the bear is hanging around their ankles because they forgot/weren't able to get back into it after going to the toilet.
