In the wake of this weekend's Orlando shooting, or the recent Paris or Brussels attacks, it's very hard to carry on with your daily duties as normal but it's incredibly important that you do; otherwise evil wins.
The always incredible Adele is no different and despite the shock and horror of the weekend's events, and the fact that we all feel somewhat uncomfortable having a good time after something so horrible has happened, she had to continue on with her tour; the show must go on. The Oscar-winning star took a moment to reflect on what had happened and upon dedicating the first of her Antwerp shows to the victims and families affected, she broke down in tears. For Adele, those in the LGBT community are her 'soulmates'.
She said:
I would like to start tonight by dedicating this entire show to everybody in Orlando and at Pulse nightclub last night. The LGBTQ community, they’re like my soulmates since I was really young so I’m very moved by it.
I don’t know why I’m crying already because most of this tonight is pretty miserable because my songs are fucking miserable. I do have two songs that sound happy, but they’re not.
