The news arises from developments in the divorce of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, which was announced two days ago.
TMZ reported that Pitt is under investigation by the LAPD and L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services for allegedly getting verbally abusive and physical with his children. It was reported that the incident triggered the split.
According to sources, the couple were on a flight on a private jet last Wednesday during which Pitt had been drinking, and then allegedly ‘went wild, screaming and getting physical with the kids.'
Pitt reportedly continued his rant on the tarmac, and the incident was reported anonymously to the L.A. County Dept. of Children and Family Services.
A source close to Pitt told TMZ: 'He takes the matter very seriously and says he did not commit any abuse of his children… It's unfortunate that people involved are continuing to present him in the worst possible light.'
UPDATE: In new developments, according to KTLA5, the Los Angeles Police Department has denied reports they are currently investigating child abuse accusations against Brad Pitt. The Children and Family Services Department has not confirmed or denied reports of an investigation.
