Lindsay Lohan and Avril Lavigne, two souls who haven't actually worked based on their marginal (in the case of the latter) talent since the mid-noughties, have had a rumble in Chateau Marmont:

"Avril was at a table with friends just over a week ago including her boyfriend, Brody Jenner, when Lindsay came over to say hi. But as soon as she approached, Avril launched at her and said, 'Get the hell out of my face, you are fake, you are a loser. I don't like false people. Stay away from me and my friends.' Lindsay was furious and screamed back, 'Don't threaten me!' She then stormed off to security and tried to get them to kick Avril out. They refused to force Avril to leave. Lindsay eventually stormed off."

And what of the alleged reason as to why this press generating situation happened quite loudly in a well known celebrity haunt? "The pair are said to have fallen out because Lindsay snubbed the Girlfriend hitmaker at a showbiz event but tried to make friends with her when she saw she was hanging out with people she was eager to impress. The source added to the New York Post : 'It seemed like she was just being friendly to Avril because she was with people Lindsay wanted to impress (um, Brody Jenner?). Avril is avoiding going to the Chateau Marmont when she knows Lindsay will be there. She doesn't want anymore drama'."

Eh, if she doesn't want drama, why not just return a curt "hello" instead of roaring like a fishwife in a hotel reception... Oh, 'cause that wouldn't qualify as "news."

In other Living La Vida Lohan occurrences, Michael Lohan now wants Lindsay to attend rehab in a swish hotel. Probably so he can keep an eye on her from the infinity pool. TMZ reports:

"As we first reported, Michael Lohan asked the judge in Lindsay's DUI case to send LiLo to inpatient rehab in lieu of sending her to jail for missing alcohol education classes... and the place Michael suggested to send her is the very pricey Oheka Castle. Only two problems: First, the castle isn't a rehab facility, it's a lavish hotel and resort where celebs like Kevin Jonas get married. Second, a rep for Oheka tells TMZ it would cost $10,000 a day to rent the top section of the castle - the only part that's isolated enough to serve as a rehab getaway. That's a little steep for Lindsay these days, but Michael claims, 'several family members have come forward' to help pay for Lindsay's treatment. He's also hoping the castle's owner will give him a friends and family discount."
