While the weather might not yet be quite good enough to head out to the beaches in our smalls, you should mark down these 10 spots to hit when the summer eventually arrives.
Once the temperature goes above 17°C, it's acceptable to go outside in shorts and a t-shirt and start hitting the beach, possibly playing volleyball à la Top Gun, which is what summer is all about as far as we can tell.
The one problem is that the beaches do tend to get pretty packed when the weather is good, so thankfully Trip Advisor have come up with their top 10 beaches in Ireland, as chosen by the site's readers and people who have visited these fair isles, meaning that you can just head out in search of the best places to work on your tan. Just make sure you use the information contained within the list to pick a quality beach and get there early to secure a spot too.
Inchydoney in Cork sits top of the list, while as a county, Kerry is dominating the top 10. Galway also has a number of spots that proved popular with Trip Advisor readers, while only one beach in Dublin made the list. The full top 10 is as follows:
1) Inchydoney, Clonakilty, Co. Cork
2) Derrynane, Caherdaniel, Co. Kerry
3) Inch Beach, Dingle, Co. Kerry
4) Lahinch Beach, Co. Clare
