She may be one of the best selling artists in the UK but this Christmas season has not been an easy one for singing sensation, Susan Boyle. As per numerous sources close to the star, her brother Gerry (59) has been 'emotionally blackmailing' her for the significant sum of £50,000.
Sadly, as per Susan's nephew, her brother visited her in the US and threatened to kill himself should she refuse to hand over the money, which, of course, she did. But what did he need such an enormous amount of money for? Susan's brother Gerry is a successful businessman and it was his wish to re-model an old cinema in Edinburgh into a fancy venue, suitable for big showbiz event, and so, he turned to his sister.
Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Susan's nephew reveals: 'It was emotional blackmail... Susan felt like she had no choice and had to give the money to him. She doesn't deal with pressure very well and he knew the buttons to press.'
Meanwhile Susan's sister has shared her own views and worries that he may come back for more money at a later stage: 'In New York she hadn't spoken to him for weeks when he asked for the £50,000. She wasn't well and had a viral infection and tonsillitis. She just said she would give it to him,' while a spokesman for the singer said: 'It is true. There were threats of suicide if she did not pay yet another large amount of money.'
