Not entirely sure why Jessica Chastain was at last night's Tony Awards, but she gave the illusion of having her baps totally out so that's earned her the featured image. Well done, Jessica.
The stage version of Once was nominated for pretty much everything, so it was no surprise it won quite a few gongs, including Best Musical, while Steve Kazee won Best Leading Actor in a Musical for his performance in the production. This gave Glen Hansard another reason to wave the flag for Ireland. Marketa Irglova also popped in during her run around Central Park...?
Also winning big on the night was James Corden. James, in bashful form, insisted he was 'overwhelmed' to even be nominated for the award alongside Broadway stars Philip Seymour Hoffman, James Earl Jones, Frank Langella and John Lithgow.
Winning the accolade for Best Actor for his turn in One Man, Two Guvnors, he said: "'My girlfriend Julia gave birth to our son like, five days before we started rehearsals. She's my baby mama, and I can't wait to marry her. Seriously, I would not be holding this if it wasn't for her. She makes me say 'us' instead of 'I' and 'we' instead of 'me', and I love her. Thank you very much." Here's where I'd usually take the piss, but that was actually a very touching speech. The American's love a bit of schmaltz. Couldn't help myself.
Hugh Jackman was presented with a special Tony award by his wife Deborra-Lee Furness at the ceremony for his contribution to the Broadway community and charity work.
Paul Rudd, Christopher Plummer and Angela Lansbury all presented gongs at the ceremony at the Beacon Theater in New York, which was presented by Dougie Howser MD.
Also in attendance: Sheryl Crow, Andrew Garfield, (the) Ricky Martin, Cynthia Nixon, Stockard (step away from the make up gun) Channing, Matthew Morrison, Amanda Seyfried, Sheldon Cooper, and more...
