This little one's wait to be rescued must have been unbearable.
It's not everyday that a bear jumps in your raft and you're happy about it, but High Mountain tour guide Danny Allen did everything he could to persuade this bear cub to jump aboard.
The 14-pound cub, now named Noli, had been struggling to survive on her own after being separated from her mother, before Allen rowed down the Nolichucky River, Tennessee, to save her following a tip-off from a raft company who had spotted the cub. USA Raft, whose tour guides had originally spotted the cub, tried to save Noli but she would retreat having started to walk, and eventually swim towards their boats.
It took Noli a few days of interacting with humans before finally being coaxed into the boat last Thursday, before being taken to the Appalachian Bear Rescue, where she received treatment and is now on the road to recovery. She's set to stay in the centre until she hits 50-pounds, which should be later this year.
