As talks are currently underway at the Labour Court between representatives of the GRA and Garda Siochana, people are beginning to wonder what exactly happens tomorrow if the Garda strike goes ahead.
Is it like a Robocop situation where Peter Weller takes to the streets of Dublin to mete out brutal justice? Does the Garda Siochana even have a Robocop on the payroll for just an occasion? Or is it perhaps more in line with something like The Purge where there's a complete breakdown in societal order and we're all killing each other?
Evidently, the U.S. Embassy is tending towards the latter as a security message was sent to all U.S. citizens currently in Ireland at the moment. The message reads that U.S. citizens in Ireland should "review your personal security plans, remain aware of your surroundings, including local events, and monitor local news for updates. Be vigilant and take appropriate steps to enhance your personal security."
Right so.
It's worth pointing out that Ireland has some of the strictest and least permissive gun laws in the entire world, meaning that personal security by means of firearms is highly unlikely.
